Bodegas Monte Pío is a family-run winery located in Ribadumia in Galicia. It was established in 1979 and since 2014 has been under the stewardship of Pablo Martinez, the current oenologist and vineyard manager. The average age of the vineyards is 25 years and they are predominantly made up of Albariño, the main grape of the Rias Baixas region.
An atypical Spanish wine region, Rias Baixas experiences higher rainfall and cooler temperatures than many other parts of the country which allows the fresh, crisp Albariño grape for which it has become famous to thrive.
Grape Varieties: 100% Albarino.
Farming Practices: Sustainable
Appearance: Bright and clean yellow straw-coloured with golden highlights.
Nose: Highlight the aromas of the variety with hints of citrus and alga.
Taste: Fresh and intense. Mineral aftertaste, vibrant acidity and salinity that, along with the carbonic remains, make the wine fresh and young without being aggressive.
